Elevatec’s modular cargo lifts are now available in weatherproof design for the outdoors. The company’s aim is to provide even more flexibility for efficient material transport, including outside of buildings.
The outdoor lifts are based on elevatec’s "Made in Germany" cargo lift construction kit. They are designed for working loads of 500 to 4,000 kg, have hoisting cage sizes up to 18 m2 and a hoisting height of up to 12 m. Up to six landings can be realised, making it suitable for many different applications.
Changes to the building also remain minimal for the outdoor version and are limited to a few drill holes for the attachments. In terms of steelwork, clamping the outrigger was normally sufficient, emphasised the company, which develops and produces cargo lifts and special machinery.
Thanks to the solid galvanised housing with sturdy mechanical protective fence, operators and employees are protected against risks. The powder-coated lifting columns, doors, hoisting cages and galvanised steel components ensure durability.
Like all elevatec solutions, the outdoor lifts also meet the requirements of the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC and the EN 81-31 standard for accessible cargo lifts.
The standard safety equipment includes:
• safety components approved by authorised inspection bodies
• elevatec safety gear according to EN 81-50 and EN 81-20
• overspeed- and overload detection
• precision measurement system for permanent monitoring of the lift position
• chain-tension sensors and motor-driven door locking with dual monitoring.
In the event of malfunctioning, the lift features an automatic emergency stop to protect people, material and technology.
The cargo lifts are designed to be operated by instructed staff; no elaborate training courses are needed. Control boxes with an emergency stop at every landing and the automatic readjustment of the hoisting cage position during loading and unloading with heavy cargo are intended to guarantee smooth operation.
The products are subject to an annual accident prevention inspection by elevatec. The accident prevention regulations of the trade associations regulate the processes for safe operational and user handling of technical work and operational equipment.
Different versions are available according to requirements. All models can also be installed retrospectively with minimal structural effort and as a result are well-suited for retrospective installation, for example on outdoor facades.
