New coated lift belts

News

Brugg Lifting has introduced new coated lift belts for the global market. The "Brubelt 52 kN" is intended to increase lift service life, reduce drive size and open up new application possibilities.

"In the lift market today, many OEMs are moving away from solutions that require a machine room," explained Michael Siegfried, CTO at Brugg Lifting. "Lift drive systems must be smaller and more energy efficient. Lift traction belts like the Brubelt 52kN are key to this shift as they allow for smaller pulley diameters and motors. The Brubelt helps customers reduce the size of their drives without sacrificing breaking load or lifetime."

Weighing only 250gr/m, at a 3.4 x 30mm (t x W) section, the Brubelt 52kN is comprised of a set of 10 high-tensile galvanized 2.1mm steel cords coated by a high-tech non-abrasive thermoplastic jacket, offering the significantly high MBL of 52kN with a well-balanced material efficiency.

"It is a robust, reliable and safe solution that guarantees a comfortable and smooth riding experience, even in the most demanding environments (i.e. high temperatures, humidity, abrasion, etc.)," according to Brugg Lifting.

Long lifetime of 10M bending cycles

At a recommended sheave diameter of 100mm, the Brubelt 52kN can achieve an impressive long lifetime of 10M bending cycles, which, due to the high resistance to wear, comes with practically "zero-maintenance" requirements. Meanwhile, the smaller pulley diameters and the reduced motor size allow for reduced energy consumption and space savings, leading to a more sustainable lifting solution and higher application flexibility.

As a result, the Brubelt helps realize the full potential of the elevator system while reducing the Total Cost of Ownership compared to conventional ropes lifting solutions, emphasized the manufacturer of lift ropes, architectural rope, wire ropes and lashing and hoisting devices.

The Brubelt is already certified according to the GB standards for the Chinese market, while the respective EN certification for Europe will come soon in 2024. It can be used in various applications and for different system specifications, from new installations to modernization projects. Brugg Lifting can provide engineering and application support to integrate the Brubelt into existing lift systems.
