Vertical mobility for enhanced requirements
For 2026, Otis has announced two new approaches in the form of Arise MOD and the Gen3 platform for flexible modernisation of existing lifts and intelligent technologies for new buildings that are tailored to different needs.

What solutions are suitable for this?
To answer this question Otis has launched its new flexible modernisation solutions Arise MOD Prime and Plus in Europe. They are intended to help customers control the costs, tempo and phased planning of lift modernisation.
Arise MOD: modular approach
Arise MOD was developed for the modernisation of rope lifts in residential and smaller commercial properties. Operators can choose between two versions – Arise MOD Prime and Arise MOD Plus – and as a result decide both the scope as well as the tempo of modernisation for themselves.
"Prime" includes the exchange of the control system, an electronic frequency converter for more precise travel control and the connection to the IoT platform "Otis ONE" that is intended to facilitate continuous status monitoring. As a result, downtimes could be reduced and maintenance measures planned in advance, according to Otis.
Convert system to the Otis Gen2 belt technology

Moreover, with the Plus package, customers can convert their system to the Otis Gen2 belt technology.
These are intended to ensure improved travel quality with a gearless drive and polyurethane-coated steel ropes. If the existing drive unit is to be used to the end of its service life, this upgrade can also be carried out in modular form at a later date.
"Many design options and energy efficiency"
Arise MOD offers many design options, which can be flexibly integrated in existing buildings – often with minimum additional structural effort. According to the Group, another advantage is energy efficiency: the ReGen drive technology uses energy that would otherwise be lost as heat, and feeds it back into the electricity grid. As a result, the energy consumption in the building compared to systems without recovery technology will fall.

Gen3: networked lift complete solutions
While Arise MOD is conceived above all for the phased modernisation of existing lifts, the Gen3 platform relies on intelligent and networked lift complete solutions.
The Gen3 series includes eight models – Gen3 Core, Gen3 Peak, Gen3 Edge, Gen3 Flex, Gen3 Switch, Gen3 Home, Gen3 Bedlift and Gen3 Robusta – and as a result covers a multitude of building types: residential buildings, offices, hotels, health facilties, industrial buildings and shopping centres.
Technically, Gen3 is based on known developments. According to Otis, the patented belts made of polyurethane-coated steel strands are lighter and lower maintenance than conventional steel ropes. The Pulse system continuously monitors its status.
Fitted with a new operating panel
Real-time monitoring and predictive maintenance was possible via the Otis ONE IoT platform. In emergencies, the Otisline customer service can be contacted directly via the eView car display in the car. At the same time, it serves as an information screen.
The Gen3 platform features standard functions like LED lighting, sleep mode and ReGen drive technology, which can reduce energy consumption and the CO₂ footprint.
The Gen3 Core lift is fitted with a new operating panel, revised landing elements and external calls and displays. The introduction of the Gen3 platform has been taking place in stages in Europe and the Middle East since the beginning of the year and complements the existing product range of the Gen360 platform.
