High-tech lift belt based on aramid cord

News

Aritec New Materials Group AG – a technology company based in Switzerland – has introduced the Aribelt 30 F3.4, a high-tech lift belt based on aramid cord, at interlift 2023.

The Aribelt 30 F3.4 has been approved according to Directive 2014/33/EU and complies with the reference standards EN 81-20:2020 and EN 81-50:2020. The lift belt was certified by TÜV Süd at the end of July.

The Aribelt 30 F3.4 measures 30 x 3.3 mm and is designed for various applications. A key feature of the Aribelt 30 F3.4 is its construction of ten aramid cords, including five sZ cords and five zS cords. This combination is reinforced by Aritec technology, specifically designed to ensure quality performance and reliability.

Aritec and the Japanese brand Teijin – a long-standing partner of the Swiss company – have collaborated on the Aribelt 30 F3.4. The Aribelt 30 F3.4 is "Made in Germany", emphasises Aritec.

Advantages for industry and the environment

The introduction of the Aribelt 30 F3.4 will bring several benefits to the lift industry. "The significant weight reduction of the Aribelt 30 F3.4 not only contributes to the reduction of CO2 emissions, but also to the conservation of valuable global resources," says Aritec. This weight reduction has a positive impact on lift design, enabling a more efficient and sustainable transport system. In addition, the use of high-tech aramid cords improves the passenger experience in terms of speed, comfort and safety.

An additional advantage of the Aribelt 30 F3.4 is its bi-directional operation. With the same coefficient of friction on both surfaces, the belt can be installed and used on both sides. In addition, the asymmetric end can be mounted in two positions, which further saves space.

High reliability and safety

Another advantage is the ability to operate the belt without lubrication. In practice, this feature means less maintenance and contributes to environmental friendliness as the absence of lubricants reduces the use of potentially harmful chemicals.

The Aribelt 30 F3.4 has a breaking load of 43 kN on a traction sheave diameter of 80 mm and 18 million single bends. This strength ensures high reliability and safety of the lift system, the company says. Aritec engineers are also working on a new monitoring system to ensure continuous monitoring.
