Introduction of the customer MCE with customer cockpit

News

Meiller introduced its configuration engine (MCE) two years ago. It is now the basis for every door offer. The digital offer portal is now entering the second stage of its implementation.

By Florian Runck

The concept for this development stage provides for the product configurators being available on the Meiller homepage to all customers and interested parties. Users will be guided through the query process via a product catalogue with selection tiles. The aim of the bundled product families and pre-categorised product groups is to make ideal door selection and plausible requests for almost every lift system possible via the system.

Once a suitable product package has been selected and placed in the shopping cart, the individual items can be configured as needed. Copying and deleting functions will be available for each request item. After adjusting the unit numbers and statement of a customer reference, the request is sent to the Meiller sales team and undergoes immediate further processing there for an offer.

The so-called customer cockpit functions additionally as an online portal for administering the queries submitted and to embed the MCE user interface. This module has been redesigned and can now be found as a section integrated in the customer portal of the homepage. All queries and follow-up documents are collected there. Search and various filter functions permit retrieving the open and sent queries.

Additional sub-levels in the cockpit serve to view and further process the queries, depending on their status and provide the users with a detailed view of the associated follow-up documents, such as offers and orders (if already available). Duplicating queries via the copy function is possible too. The provision of suitable documents, certificates and drawings is automatically initiated via corresponding background processes of the configuration-friendly document provision in the user interface, appropriately for each object. These are then available for download.

All obstacles overcome

Preparation of this overall concept as well as the definition and incorporation of all interfaces and services needed presented the parties involved at Meiller Aufzugtüren and their partners with great challenges in recent years. But in the end, all of the obstacles were overcome and the system was implemented. The soft go-live phase with selected users will end at the beginning of 2023.

The complete go-live is then planned for January and as a result the availability of the customer cockpit + customer MCE to all interested parties on the ‘Meiller-Aufzugtueren.de’ homepage. The only condition is prior registration in the "Login area" for all users who do not yet have any access data.

The MCE together with its environment is by no means unchanging, hence its further development is undergoing continuous fine tuning. Apart from the automated, offer-specific data supply, which is intended to make the tool attractive as a planning application, other steps are already being planned and implemented, above all in the sense of BIM data provision with integration in the Digipara LiftDesigner.
