Florence Bigé elected president

News

Florence Bigé is on a roll: since the end of September 2024 she has been in charge of TK Elevator France. This made her the first woman in France to hold the position of president of a manufacturer in this sector, according to a company press release.

Now, in mid-May, she has been elected as president of the French lift association, Fédération des Ascenseurs, for three years. Her predecessor was Olivier Rouvière (Otis), who held the office for just one year.

In Florence Bigé’s view, increased investment in the renovation of lifts and the installation of new lifts was necessary – above all in multifamily buildings, primarily in the suburbs, institutions open to the public and areas with high population growth.

"The French are right to demand more reliability, more availability and above all more accessibility," the president of the Fédération des Ascenseurs stated with conviction. "It is our joint responsibility, together with all parties involved – including tenants, owners, landlords and institutions – to react with specific and innovative solutions that are adapted to the technical realities of existing buildings."

Sales of 235 million euros

Florence Bigé is a graduate of the ESC Marseille Business School and of the HEC Executive Program. She was employed at Otis France from 2003 to March 2019 before moving to the Onet Group. There she was in charge of a security service company. In 2023, she joined TK Elevator France as deputy managing director.

According to the figures of the Fédération des Ascenseurs, the French lift sector generated total sales of 2.80 billion euros in 2024 with 653,000 lifts in operation. Compared to the previous year, 11,000 new lifts (+1 %) were sold and 2,910 lifts (+1 %) modernised. French lift builders realised sales of 235 million euros (-10 %) with modernisations. The companies employ a total of 17,200 employees.
