Continuous data acquisition with ZAdyn frequency inverters

News

With its new "black box recorder", Ziehl-Abegg offers a new function in frequency inverters that is intended to make it much easier to identify and rectify faults when they occur in the lift system.

Ziehl-Abegg is an international company in the field of ventilation-w, control- and drive-technology. For the lift sector, the company produces motors in combination with the associated control technology.

The new function continuously records data while the lift is in motion. The recorded measurement data has a very high resolution of five milliseconds per measured value. If an error occurs, similar to a flight recorder in an airplane, the measurement data from the last 36 to 55 seconds before the error occurred is saved on an integrated memory card.

The recorded data can be analyzed quickly and easily. For a detailed error analysis, the file can be forwarded by e-mail to Ziehl-Abegg customer service. The service team thus has immediate access to all the important measurement data for the fastest possible troubleshooting. This reduces or even completely avoids time-consuming coordination meetings.

The "black box recorder" is activated automatically as soon as a memory card is installed in the inverter. Parameterization is not required. Since mid-2022, Ziehl-Abegg frequency inverters have been supplied with a memory card as standard.

To avoid unnecessary data, the recording of the "black box recorder" is automatically stopped one second after the lift comes to a standstill. Recording is restarted when the ride is resumed. The assignment of the measuring channels is automated depending on the communication with the lift control system. Up to nine measuring channels are recorded, which can be selected and viewed in the ZAmon software. ZAmon is a program especially developed by Ziehl-Abegg for measurement data recording and evaluation.
