SimsInLifts expanding to the continent

News

The British specialist for lift communication technology, SimsInLifts, can now also be found in Belgium apart from the United Kingdom with its multi-roam SIM cards, which can be installed in emergency call systems.

SimsInLifts announced its expansion plans for Europe at the LiftEx 2025 trade fair. The multi-roam SIM cards of the company are now also available to lift companies from Belgium. According to a press release, they "are compatible with every automatic dialling device and designed to ensure that they automatically connect at all times with the strongest available mobile communications network".

This prevented emergency calls in lifts that are currently handled exclusively via mobile communications networks from failing if passengers are trapped. Roaming agreements exist with the providers Telenet, Orange (VoLTE) and Proximus (VoLTE and 5G NSA). SimsInLifts had looked for a Belgium partner for distribution. However, the company did not yet wish to reveal the name of the company to our newsroom.

Next logical step in business development

International lift operators can also benefit from company’s lift SIM manager platform. It permits the remote activation of SIM cards and aims to make repeated visits of technicians on site superfluous. Moreover, operators can track the SIM status or settlement via the platform.

"Belgium was the next logical step in our business development," revealed Chaim Grunfeld, co-founder of SimsInLifts. "Both I and my business partner Chaim Berkowicz originally come from Belgium so we’re very familiar with the market and culture."

According to the company, SimsInLifts currently supports over 80 lift companies in the United Kingdom. Future target markets apart from Belgium were France, the Netherlands and Germany.
