New intercom system for fire brigade lifts

Rocom, a developer of lift emergency systems from Rodgau (Germany), has just introduced a new fire brigade intercom system according to EN 81-72 with fully digital voice transmission in the form of “Firecom Nexy”.

Rocom’s new product consists of a device that automatically configures itself as “master”, “car” or “machine room intercom”, depending on the use type. In addition, up to ten more landing call stations can be connected for evacuation.

The call stations are connected via a serial two-core digital bus. “This means the transmission is completely interference-free,“ according to the company press release. Thanks to the echo suppression technology, communication at all call stations was crystal clear and even in the most cramped spaces free of acoustic feedback. The power supply was 12 – to 48 V dc – depending on the number of call stations installed.

With and without housing

The call stations are available in a compact housing (external dimensions 78 x 115 x 17 mm). A version without housing and with separate loudspeaker and microphone for flexible installation could also be supplied, Rocom added.

Complete call stations with stainless steel panels, triangular wrench keys and press-to-talk buttons for the lobby and landings were available too. A surface-mounted call station in IP54 housing was planned for the machine room.
