Host Monitor Mini connects the entire building
Every year lifts worldwide are out of service for almost 272 million hours. Setek AB has now launched the Host Monitor Mini (HMM), a compact, robust and open platform that integrates lifts into the building's digital infrastructure.
According to Setek, the HMM offers real-time monitoring, predictive maintenance, and full compatibility with lifts and other building systems.
The HMM collects, analyses, and transmits operational data in real time through open standards such as CANopen-Lift, Modbus, BACnet, and MQTT. This means that it works seamlessly with all lift brands, regardless of the lifts’ age, and can also be integrated with building systems for solar power, ventilation, heating, energy, lighting and much more.
Work predictively instead of reactively
"When elevators and building systems start speaking the same language, we can for the first time work predictively instead of reactively. That means fewer service disruptions, lower costs, and a safer everyday life for residents," says Henrik Jönsson, Business Unit Manager at Setek AB.
The vibration-resistant unit features a built-in cybersecurity module and can be easily integrated into customers’ existing platforms or SCADA systems.
In addition to the technological aspects, HMM also assists property owners in complying with the EU's new framework for the Smart Readiness Indicator (SRI), in which elevator availability and system interoperability are pivotal factors in determining a building's digital maturity and future value, according to the company.
