TÜV Rheinland has issued the first certificate for the inspection of the solenoid interlocks AZ300, AZM300 and AZM300-AS of Schmersal, according to the UKCA requirements.
Following the pilot project with the solenoid interlock AZM300, Schmersal will now have other products systematically certified according to UKCA: first the solenoid interlocks of other series and then also electronic safety switches, safety relay modules and safety light grids.
"Our goal is to provide the most common and frequently requested products of Schmersal with the UKCA certificate by 1 January 2023 to ensure our customers can distribute their machines in line with the standard in the United Kingdom," revealed Jörg Eisold, Head of Inspections, Standard Committees and Association Work at the Schmersal Group.
TÜV Rheinland has been an UK approved body since September 2021, recognised by the British government for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy BEIS, among other things for the standard "Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008" and as a result can carry out the UKCA certification for the manufacturers of safety products pursuant to Annex IV of the Machinery Directive and thereby support access to the British market.
