Schmitt + Sohn Aufzüge: Change in management
The announcement has caused quite a stir: Schmitt + Sohn Aufzüge, one of the largest family-run businesses in the European lift industry, is restructuring its management. For the first time, an external managing director has also been appointed.
Dr Johannes Schmitt and his children, Anna von Hinüber (née Schmitt) and Maximilian Schmitt, have stepped down from the management board. However, all three remain shareholders in the company.
Alongside Martin Schmitt, the strategic and operational management of Schmitt + Sohn Lifts is now in the hands of Marie Schmitt, Carl-Victor Schmitt and Peter Pieringer.

She is also responsible for the sales company at the Nuremberg site, according to the company’s press release
Carl-Victor Schmitt will in future be responsible for sales, service and installation, quality management and the strategic brand management of Schmitt + Sohn.
Peter Pieringer will join the management board as its first external member. In his role, he will oversee the company’s central service areas: finance, IT, human resources and legal affairs.
"The focus and clear division of responsibilities within the management team is a logical step towards further strengthening our commitment to excellent product quality, first-class service and value-driven, sustainable entrepreneurship in a volatile market environment," explains Martin Schmitt.
