January 2026
Schindler subsidiary AS Aufzüge has acquired a Swiss lift company.
The company in question is Walder Lift AG, which became part of AS Aufzüge with retroactive effect from 6 January 2026. All employees of the long-established Zurich-based company, which was founded in 1936, will be taken on by AS Aufzüge.
According to its own information, Walder Lift AG installs, modernises and maintains passenger, goods and private lifts in northern Switzerland, in the cantons of Aargau, Schaffhausen, St. Gallen, Thurgau, Zurich, Zug and Schwyz. According to the company's website, the previous management team included Matthias and Samuel Walder as well as Erwin Pfister.
Walder Lift AG's existing maintenance contracts are to be continued on unchanged terms. AS Aufzüge intends to inform Walder Lift AG's customers in writing about their new contact persons in the coming weeks. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.
AS Aufzüge AG employs 800 people at eleven locations in Switzerland and Liechtenstein and is part of Schindler Switzerland. The company was formed in 1998 from the merger of the four founding companies Gebauer AG, Aufzüge AG Schaffhausen, H. Schweizer Aufzüge AG and Segulift SA.
Similar to the German Schindler company Haushahn, companies that the group has acquired are integrated there – there are now 26 medium-sized lift companies from all over Switzerland.
