The hinged door in lift building: an underestimated classic
Manual hinged doors in lift building – a relic of days gone by? Quite the contrary. This solution is more than just a niche product.

The development department of Langer & Laumann (L&L) has now designed a tailor-made solution for a rare door.
In the Netherlands, there were repeatedly problems in a residential facility for senior citizens with a Mitsubishi door, which is very rare in Europe. A modified version was needed, since modernisation with the standard solution was out of the question, due to the defective 2 to 1 translation to the slow door leaf.
After inspecting the building site, special parts were designed and produced. A little later, assembly of the new conversion package was carried out by the commissioned lift company itself and supported by the L&L employees Florian Rauch and Marcel ten Hove.
After a conversion time of just four hours, it was possible to put the lift back into operation and the facility’s residents were able to use the lift as usual, safely and free of anxiety.
"If a lift in a hospital or residential facility is defective, this is particularly a problem for older people. Consequently, we cannot accept long waiting times," added Martin Platt, L&L managing director. He emphasised that all conversion packages – even for rare doors – are available at all times and can be delivered very quickly.
