The entrepreneur Uwe Ziehl resigned as chair of the Supervisory Board of Ziehl-Abegg at the turn of the year. His successor as chair of the senior management committee is Dennis Ziehl.

Sindia Ziehl is now also a member of the Supervisory Board of the Ziehl-Abegg Group. Dennis and Sindia Ziehl are great grandchildren of the company founder Emil Ziehl. Furthermore, Dennis Ziehl is the full-time managing director of Ziehl industrie-elektronik GmbH in Schwäbisch Hall and member of the IHK plenary assembly.

The minister of finance and the economy Nils Schmid awarded Uwe Ziehl the economy medal for outstanding professional and entrepreneurial services and as thanks for special services to the Baden Württemberg economy.

Uwe Ziehl established Ziehl industrie-elektronik GmbH & Co KG, a measurement and control manufacturer, in Schwäbisch Hall in 1967 while he was still studying engineering. Ziehl-Abegg grew to be a worldwide leading manufacturer of fans for ventilation and air conditioning technology as well as drive motors for lifts.

Ziehl-Abegg began to expand internationally as early as 1973. In 2001, it was converted to a family-owned joint stock company. In 2005, Uwe Ziehl became chair of the Ziehl-Abegg Supervisory Board.

Today, 4,300 employees work worldwide for Ziehl-Abegg, 2,400 of them in Künzelsau, Bieringen and Kupferzell (Germany).
