Hydroware: with IoT into the future

The modernisation package for hydraulic lifts from Hydroware works with the ­latest technology: this includes a high ­resolution interface – perfectly adapted to smartphones and tablets.

Hydraulic lifts are an ideal solution for many structural situations. Technical developments in recent years have not only made modernising existing lifts into an attractive option again, but also installation of new complete lifts. Modern hydraulic lifts are energy efficient, clean and sustainable.

The Swedish company Hydroware has been a leader in innovation for hydraulic drive technology since 1998. The centerpiece was and is the servo-controlled valve, which facilitates travel comfort at a very low heat generation and high energy efficiency. Hydroware developed a matching lift controller for this in close dialogue with customers. This drive and control system is marketed under the name HydroElite.

Hydroware is growing dynamically

Hydroware then underwent rapid development in Scandinavia and the United Kingdom. The company has also been growing dynamically on the German market ever since Volker Hager arranged an effective sales and support organisation for Germany as the new managing director for Germany.

Hydroware provides fast and efficient service in assembly and maintenance from its headquarters in Ratingen near Dusseldorf and from agencies in southern and northern Germany. In urgent cases, Hydroware can supply new drive units within just ten days.

Lift controller via tablet or smartphone

Currently, Hydroware is focusing particularly on sustainability and the ­opportunities of digitalisation. The latest HydroElite version from Hydroware is equipped with an innovative HMI, which enables full cloud connection to remote monitoring and IoT applications.

A new, completely digitalised menu using an in-built web browser, integrated secure WLAN and pre-installed mobile connection create the preconditions for this. The new controller will be fitted with a permanent, high resolution touch display.

The extensive graphical interface is fully responsive and can be managed on all platforms. In addition to operating and configuring the lift, you also get access to a wide range of historical and real-time information.

A new era for technicians

Remote access is possible for technicians, as well as for Hydroware engineers, which enable them to work together if support is necessary. A cus-tomer-specific web portal allows remote access where the technician can monitor the health and status, carry out diagnoses and change settings. This means: Not every parameter assignment, disruption or error message requires an on-site action from the technician.

Although, if on-site efforts are necessary, troubleshooting is more straightforward, and disruptions can be eliminated more easily and quickly. The Virtual Coach uses big data, historical behaviour and AI-technology to help the technician reach the solution.

Significant reduction in energy consumption

Of course, the new lift controller also aligns to the Hydroware motto of easy installation. Integrating CANopen-LIFT devices is easily made via the HMI. This simplifies the integration of shaft information or door drives etc.

Other new features: the new energy recovery feature of the VICI model during down trips leads to a significant re-duction in energy consumption and the power demand is another ten percent below the current VIDI.
