Award win at 45th birthday for Caltech Lifts

The Scottish Caltech Lifts has been named Best Dundee-based Family Business of the Year in “The Courier Business Awards 2023” days after it celebrated its 45th birthday.

The family firm, founded in Dundee in 1978 by engineer Howard Renwick and now run by his sons Andrew and Fraser, was named the best family Dundee-based business at the awards ceremony at the Apex Hotel in Dundee on the end of October.

Managing Director Andrew Renwick accepted the award from host Gaby Roslin along with his dad Howard and brother Fraser. Andrew Renwick is a member of the LEIA board – the UK trade association and advisory body for the lift and escalator industry.

Delivering high-quality service, products and value

The judging panel chose Caltech Lifts as the winner because it has kept its growth plan to increase turnover, profit and staff to record levels on-track despite the colossal challenge of Covid restrictions by maintaining rigorous focus on delivering high-quality service, products and value.

The company has supplied, installed and maintained lifts since 1978. According to the company it is the oldest independent lift and stairlift business in Scotland.
