News

The VDI-Gesellschaft Bauen und Gebäudetechnik (VDI-GBG – Association of German Engineers - Association Construction and Building Technology) has awarded its badge of honour to Thomas Lipphardt. He has been working at Kone for 16 years in total as Manager Technical Regulations.

This award is intended to pay tribute to Lipphardt’s "outstanding services and his continuous commitment" in the committees of the VDI-GBG, according to the lift company’s press release.

"Thomas deserves to wear the badge of honour. We are proud of our colleague and his unbroken devotion to lift safety," emphasised Eva Cezanne, DACH Customer Solution Engineering Director at Kone. "Experts like Thomas are already giving answers today to the questions of tomorrow."

Awarded since 1948

"The reward is gratifying and I see it as an incentive to keep working on regulations on the use of lifts with the same passion," Thomas Lipphardt stressed. "At Kone, we want everyone to be able to feel safe in a lift. I’m glad I can contribute to this."

The badge of honour of the VDI has been awarded since 1948 in recognition of services in the fields of technology and honorary work. The VDI Association Construction and Building Technology is a specialist association of the Association of German Engineers (VDI), which represents about 15,000 of the overall 130,000 VDI members.
