The safety award goes to Niggemeier & Leurs

News

ArcelorMittal honours partner companies with outstanding occupational safety standards with its Safety Award. Originally planned for 2020, the award was made later due to the pandemic.

The family-run lift and conveyance technology SME Niggemeier & Leurs GmbH from Bottrop was honoured this time.

ArcelorMittal is the biggest steel and mining company worldwide. It can be found in over 60 countries and has industrial operations in more than 20 countries. At ArcelorMittal, the lift and conveyance technology company Niggemeier & Leurs GmbH from Bottrop is responsible for numerous lifts. This is because large and small lifts have to undergo regular maintenance and repair in the midst of the mill trains and molten steel.

A great honour

Niggemeier & Leurs is not only certified according to DIN EN ISO 9001:2015 (quality management), DIN EN ISO 14001:2015 (environmental management) and EN 13015 (lift maintenance) but also according to DIN ISO 45001:2018 (occupational safety management). The occupational safety management was recertified in 2020 by OHSAS 18001 to the latest standard.

The managing partner Lutz Leurs was pleased with the award, it "is a great honour and underlines our long-standing intensive efforts to bring about safe workplaces for our employees."
