Personnel changes at Schindler

News

At Schindler, the election of the twelve-member Board of Management is due in spring. The Swiss lift builder had already announced in December that two members would withdraw from the body.

Erich Ammann is not standing for re-election. He is retiring after working for the group for 35 years. Adam Keswick is not running either.

The reason for this was scheduling conflicts with meetings of the Board of Management of Jardine Matheson (a market-listed conglomerate, chiefly active in China and South-East Asia; editorial note). This meant that he was currently unable to appropriately meet his obligations vis-a-vis Schindler, according to an ad hoc notification of Schindler in accordance with Art 53 of the Listing Regulations of the Swiss stock exchange.

All of the other Board of Management members would be standing for re-election at the annual general meeting on 19 March 2024. The Board of Management, in accordance with the provision for exceptions in the management regulations, decided to extend the age limit for Alfred N Schindler (74) and Luc Bonnard (77). If Tobias B Staehelin should be re-elected to the Board of Management, he is to take the place of Erich Ammann in the Supervisory and Strategy Committee.

As a member of the Group Management – responsible for Human Resources - the Board of Management named Hugo Martinho as successor of Tobias B Staehelin as of 1 April 2024. Martinho has been working for Schindler since 2003 in various positions in Europe and Asia. Since 2022, he has been in charge of Human Resources Europe North.
