Montanari: New belt suspension systems

The growing demands for more efficient vertical transportation systems led Montanari - an italian manufacturer of traction machines for elevator systems – to develop new belt solutions for new installations and modernizations.

The new belt suspension systems represent an advanced technology, stresses the company: the possibility to use smaller traction pulleys compared to traditional rope systems (down to 75 mm) enables the development of more compact and easier to handle machines.

As the pulley diameter proportionally affects the torque required for operation, the adoption of belt as suspension system leads to a significant reduction in both size and cost of the gearless engine, making the system more efficient and convenient. A smaller pulley allows also to increase the engine’s RPM, improving its efficiency and reducing energy consumption.
