The family company has been active in the Indian market since the 1990s via a distribution partnership with a local authorised dealer. The global company has now opened a production branch in the federal state Gujarat.
Following the headquarters in Mauerstetten in Bavaria, Ostrzeszów in Poland (1994) and Zhangjiagang in China (2006), the manufacturer of safety brakes, safety couplings and shaft couplings opened its fourth production site in India at the end of 2024.
As a result, Mayr Antriebstechnik is producing safety brakes and couplings intended to provide safety and reliability in machinery and systems right on the spot for the local market. "Our concern here is local added value and being able to supply on the spot competitively," explained Ferdinand Mayr, CEO of the Mayr Group.
The emergent region had already arrived in many segments in the high tech sector. For examples, applications from the field of robotics or medical technology were strongly represented there. "The world economy is constantly changing, now more than ever," the CEO summarised. "Developing the market here is sometimes a balancing act, which has to be mastered."
