Cedes and relayr have developed a joint solution for smart data use in the lift sector. The new offer combines the IoT-capable light curtain cegard/Smart from Cedes with relayr’s “Skyler Elevate” predictive maintenance solution.
According to the companies, Skyler Elevate was the only condition monitoring lift solution that operated with light curtains. This made easy installation with limited investment costs possible. In addition, access to the technologies has now been facilitated by bypassing the lift controller.
The combined solution recorded the data directly at the sensor edge. It had a special control unit that reliably pre-processed the data and transmitted them to the relayr cloud infrastructure.
The solution was developed for service providers, lift consultancies, building owners and everyone else with an interest in a lift-independent monitoring system. The aim was to optimise the time for on-site deployments, reduce the number of recalls and shorten the time for troubleshooting.
The joint solution complied with the ASME A17 (USA) and CSA B44:16 (Canada) standards and met the requirements of EN 81-20 (EU), the companies emphasised.
"Our joint solution combines the decades-long experience of Cedes in developing safety curtains for lifts with the expertise of relayr in the field of IoT technology," explained Patrick Bass, CEO of Cedes.
Cedes and relayr recently entered into a strategic partnership. The Cedes Group works in the field of sensors based on photonics and secure network and control systems. The company offers solutions for lifts, escalators, industrial gates and warehouse management in more than 60 countries. relayr provides its customers with customised, interoperable IIoT (Industrial Internet of Things) technology solutions and combines these with sophisticated financial and insurance products.
