After about a year’s construction Schmersal Böhnke + Partner moved into its new production and administration building in December in the industrial estate Obereschbach in Bergisch Gladbach.
The company’s new home comprises 1,350 m² office space on three floors and a two-floor manufacturing plant with a total area of 3,400 m² for production and storage. The building also has training rooms and a canteen. In the long term the number of employees there is to rise from 70 to about 100, because the new location provides space for growth.
"The new building will cover our rising demand for production space in the future and give us the option to modernise our production and improve material flows and logistical processing,” explained plant manager Uwe Wiemer. "During the new construction we paid particular attention to energy efficiency. We installed a heat pump for the air conditioning of the rooms and rock wool and glass foam for insulation.”
Schmersal Böhnke + Partner invested several million euros in the erection of the new building, which will be officially opened in spring 2016.
