With the modal analysis tool update, HEAD acoustics completes the ArtemiS SUITE, a comprehensive and powerful software package for all conceivable sound and vibration analyses. Troubleshooters, numericians, and calculation and project engineers can perform all relevant analyses within a single homogeneous and interactive software environment from release 12.5 onwards. In addition to the established efficient modal and operational vibration analyses (Operational Deflection Shape, ODS), ArtemiS SUITE animates deflection shapes and compares numerical simulation data with actual measurement data.

"The analysis of vibration shapes not only provides information about the sources and transmission paths of acoustic phenomena and disturbing noise. It additionally makes it possible to identify structural weaknesses and, by eliminating them, improve durability, for example," explains Dr. Aulis Telle, technical managing director Sound, Vibration and Perception at HEAD acoustics GmbH. "Structural analysis must therefore be incorporated into any development process as early as possible - at an early stage based on simulation models and later for verification on the prototype."

The core of the new software solution is the powerful 3D visualization. It analyzes the dynamic behavior of components with outstanding speed, presents the results clearly, and, above all, plastically, animates transfer functions and allows measurements and simulation data to be compared in the form of 3D deflection shapes in the Shape Comparison Tool. The integrated and universally applicable measurement point library makes data acquisition particularly time-saving and economical. The interactive software environment also makes it easy and intuitive to examine ODS or impact measurement data.

"During development, we placed particular focus on the usability and the accessible calculation and analysis processes of ArtemiS SUITE," explains Dr. Udo Ammerahl, Product Manager Structural Analysis at HEAD acoustics. "The result is a tool that can be used to perform complex analyses without much prior knowledge. In this way, troubleshooters and numericians, in particular, become independent of other specialist departments in their daily work and reach their goals more quickly."
